New Cottonwood waterlines head west

COTTONWOOD -- Cottonwood has begun constructing a waterline expansion and extension along SR 89, beginning near the Maverik convenience store at Mingus Avenue.

The new water line will extend 7200 feet westward along the highway and connect to the Pine Shadows Mobile Home Park. The mobile home community, while within the Cottonwood City limits has been served by the Clarkdale water utility.

The 12-inch line will provide adequate capacity for expansion and improve service to the community, while also providing redundancy and improve emergency fire flow capabilities.

The contractor, Asphalt Paving and Supply, expects construction to take about 13 weeks at a cost of $508,957.50.
