Boy, 11, crashes motor bike

STONEMAN LAKE -- At approximately 4:30 p.m. Thursday, the Montezuma-Rimrock Fire crews were called to a motorcycle accident on a Forest Road in the Stoneman Lake area.

On what is described as Bluegrade Road (FR 689) rescue crews found an 11-year-old boy on a dirt bike had crashed and suffered possible life-threatening injuries. The boy was riding with others and spotted by an unrelated forest visitor who called 911.

The young boy was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center by Guardian Air. Fortunately, he was wearing a helmet, which prevented more serious injuries.
