Woman hurt in horse riding accident in Clarkdale

CLARKDALE-A woman was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center Saturday morning. Acting Chief Jerry Doerksen of Verde Valley Fire District says the woman fell from a horses and was injured. Because of the conditions surrounding the incident on Bent River Road, she had to be taken to Verde Valley Medical Center and then loaded into a medical helicopter for transport to the hospital.

Doerksen said because of the number of falls, many horse riders are now wearing helmets, as they would in riding a motorcycle or bicycle.
