First female oncology physician practices in Cottonwood, Prescott Valley

Pamela Miel (formerly MacKenzie), M.D. is now practicing in Cottonwood and Prescott Valley as Yavapai County’s only female medical oncologist.

She maintains a solo practice in Cottonwood and joins established medical oncologist Michael Vu, M.D., Pharm.D., in his Prescott Valley office. Dr. Miel’s practice is part of the Arizona Oncology network, which treats more cancer patients than any other health care provider in the state.

Dr. Miel received her medical degree from the University of the Philippines. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Ill. followed by a fellowship in geriatrics at the University of Illinois in Chicago.

Dr. Miel then worked as a hospitalist in Las Vegas prior to completing a fellowship in medical oncology at the Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Miel is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology and the American College of Physicians.

Currently, she serves as president-elect of The Arizona Clinical Oncology Society. Dr. Miel has had articles published in Expert Review of Anticancer Therapy and Clinical Lymphoma, Myeloma & Leukemia.
