... a break from photos from the respite break as the Iris are blooming around here and I need to get them while the getting is good. I got a couple of hundred shots and have been winnowing them down. Our friend Marge has some very beautiful white ones which have been bred to have what they call a tongue on the end of the beard. Not sure what the purpose is, perhaps to make the bloom more inviting to the insects who are required to properly pollinate the plant? At any rate this is a shot of one of the blooms showing this feature and also the dust of the pollen which has already found its way to the underlying petal. The world within these flowers is a special place and try to imagine this world if you were a size equal to one of the small insects that inhabit it. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy the image and tomorrow night it will be a return to photos from the trip ... more California Dreaming.

Corky and I had a nice day, a quiet day and many images worked on. Tomorrow its Welcomers for Cork and some work for me. Life is a joy and what a blessing to be able to experience and revel in it while it is ours to enjoy.

Blessings and joy
