The Cottonwood-Oak Creek School Board will meet in regular session at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. As of 11 a.m. Friday, no agenda had been posted on the district's website.
A phone call to the district office to learn what is on the agenda was not successful. Tricia Winters, executive assistant to superintendent Barbara U'Ren, said the meeting agendas are not posted until 24 hours before the meeting.
When asked if there was any information on the items to be considered Tuesday, Winters said, "They don't go public until midnight Sunday night."
She did mention that the board will hold a study session before the meeting at 4:15 p.m.
Other Verde Valley school districts and town or city councils typically make certain that local newspapers have copies of their meeting agendas in time for them to be published prior to the meeting dates. For example, Mingus Union High School emailed on Wednesday the meeting agenda for its Dec. 17 meeting. The newspaper had agendas on Wednesday for both the Jerome and Clarkdale council meetings on Dec. 11, the same day as the COCSD meeting.
