VERDE VALLEY – Pam Miller, CEO and Publisher of Verde Valley Newspapers, has announced that Linda Jacobs has been named as Advertising Manager. Jacobs took over the Advertising Sales Manager responsibilities Jan. 9.
Jacobs became the sales representative for Verde Valley Newspapers’ publications in the Sedona, Cornville and Flagstaff markets in September 2010.
“Linda was adamant that she was the person for the Kudos sales position in September 2010,” Miller said. “She has a strong drive to be successful in any assignment given to her. I know she will put her entire skill set to work in building the sales team for our company.”
Her skill set is considerable. Jacobs has 22 years experience in targeted sales, including six years in management and 10 years of business ownership. Her experience includes four years in sales and education with Paul Mitchell, four years in radio advertising sales and seven years in real estate sales.
During her time in real estate sales, Jacobs stayed in the top 10 percent of her sales organization for seven years, and she earned her way into the Million Dollar Club and the $2 Million Dollar Club. In addition, she owned a Salon Day Spa with 11 employees for three years.
Jacobs was born in Great Falls, Mont., and moved to Spokane, Wash., when she was 9. She earned her associate of arts degree from a community college in Spokane.
Prior to moving to the Village of Oak Creek and taking the Verde Valley Newspapers’ sales position in Sedona, Jacobs managed a retail store in Las Vegas. “I came here from Las Vegas for that job,” she said.
She explained that she and her boyfriend Mitch Heider frequently visited the Sedona area. She had been keeping her eye out for a job that would allow her to make the move to Sedona. During one of those visits, Jacobs spotted the advertisement for the Kudos sales position in the Kudos publication.
“I feel naturally connected to Sedona,” Jacobs said. She is an avid hiker, and she has come to love all of the Verde Valley. In fact, she is very enthusiastic about getting to know and provide service to customers throughout the Verde Valley.
“I’m looking forward to building a strong sales team,” Jacobs said. “My goal is to offer the best customer service to meet the high standards for our advertisers.”
She said Verde Valley Newspapers has a great offering of products – from printed publications to Internet products – to provide complete service throughout the Verde Valley and Sedona area. Those products include the Verde Independent Community Newspaper, Camp Verde Bugle Community Newspaper, Kudos, Smart Shopper, Villager and a number of Internet products including verdenews.com.
Miller said Jacobs understands the value of forming partnerships with customers. “Linda loves the fast pace of the publishing business,” Miller said. “Linda was very successful in her sales position with Kudos.”
“Goal setting is vital to the success of our team,” Jacobs said. “Organization, communication and follow-through are the keys to helping our customers attain success.”
Jacobs has a daughter, Alisha Vedvik, and grandson Jayce in Spokane. Another daughter, Brittany Mullins lives in Atlanta with her husband Matthew.
