COTTONWOOD -- An armed robbery was reported in Cottonwood about 2:15 Thursday morning.
Cottonwood Police were dispatched to the Shell station at 898 S. Main St. in regard to the report of an armed robbery.
Dispatch received a call from an employee stating they had just been robbed at gun point. It was reported that the suspect had fired his gun during the robbery and fled on foot toward the area of the adjacent Camino Real. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect is described as Hispanic or dark skinned Caucasian male wearing blue jeans, blue and white flannel shirt, blue bandanna over his face, dark glasses, and a dark color hoodie.
Employees of the store advised officers that the suspect entered the store, brandished a semi-automatic handgun, and demanded money. The suspect then fired one shot into a wall of the business.
Employees gave the man approximately $70 from the register. He then ran toward Camino Real. No one was injured during the robbery.
Officers collected evidence at the scene to include a surveillance photograph of the suspect. An attempt to locate was issued to surrounding law enforcement agencies.
