Blown stop sign nets juveniles in Cottonwood

COTTONWOOD -- A Cottonwood officer had reason to check a Ford SUV when it blew through a stop sign on Aspen without coming to a complete stop. Before he was finished, the officer had arrested one juvenile on probation violation and a second for marijuana possession.

Checking for wants and warrants on the two subjects, the officer found that a confirmed warrant had been issued for one and noticed that a strong smell of marijuana smoke was present on the passenger. The glove box produced the evidence. The baggy of the green leafy weed weighed 3.6 grams.

The 14-year-old boy was handcuffed and taken for transport to juvenile detention. The 17-year-old charged with marijuana possession was also referred to the juvenile courts.
