Jerome Town Council passes ordinance for vineyard water rates

Vineyards in Jerome will now have water rates and hookup fees specific to their zoning classification. The Town Council voted March 13 to approve Ordinance 394, which amends the town code to approve water rates and hookup fees for vineyards.

The ordinance was on the meeting agenda as a second reading, and the council passed the item without discussion. Town Manager Candace Gallagher said the ordinance will become law 30 days from its adoption.

The ordinance states that separate hookup fees for vineyards will be $7,000 per parcel, and the water rate for vineyards will be $100.94 per month per parcel.

Section 1, paragraph A, "Monthly Water Service Rates," states that the "Jerome Town Code is herby amended to add new category No. 4, Vineyards, per parcel, as defined in Chapter 16 ... to set monthly water service rate for same at $100.94."

Section 2, paragraph B, states that the "Jerome Town Code is hereby amended to add new Category No. 8, vineyards, per parcel, as defined in Chapter 16 ... to set the hookup fee for same at $7,000."
