The Verde Valley Prime Time Fair, celebrating senior living, is May 12 at a new location.
This year, the fair is at Tavasci Elementary School, which is at 2939 E. Del Rio Drive in Verde Village south of Cottonwood. In Cottonwood, take State Route 260 south to the light at Del Rio and turn west. Follow Del Rio to the end, and you will see the school campus.
The Prime Time Fair is free, and there will be free door prizes and entertainment. If you get there early enough, you can also grab some free doughnuts before they disappear. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Prime Time Fair is presented by the Verde Valley Senior Center, the Cottonwood Chamber of Commerce and Verde Valley Newspapers.
NACOG Area Agency on Aging is a Gold sponsor, and Northern Arizona Rehabilitation and Fitness is a Silver Sponsor.
The fair offers activities and information on active living opportunities, from volunteering to education, and you can find out more about health issues, retirement planning and long-term care.
Verde Valley Medical Center alone will have several booths. That includes “EntireCare Rehab,” “Senior Lifestyles,” “Family Health Providers,” “Heart & Vascular Care” and “Northern Arizona Hospice.” The Senior Lifestyles Behavioral Health program diagnoses and treats the complex problems of aging adults.
The fair also offers booths with information from vision and hearing pros. Dr. Howard Feldman, ear, nose and throat specialist, and Dr. Cheryl Kasdorf, naturopathic physician, will also be on hand. Find out how to stay fit at the Cottonwood Recreation Center and Curves. Check out area retirement communities and assisted living prospects, as well as information on area hospice organizations.
Also look for booths on insurance, taxes, legal help and caring for your aging relatives.
Osher Lifetime Learning from Yavapai College will be back, sharing their educational opportunities for those who are in the prime of life.
