COTTONWOOD -- For one night only, the anchor of the Blazin' M Cowboys becomes the center of attention.
All dinner and show ticket proceeds for the show Friday, Nov. 16, will go to the Bill Bassett family. A beloved member of the Blazin' M family, Bill needs help from all of us, and the Verde's popular supper club will step up and help.
Join in the great food and entertainment this Friday night and be part of the Benefit for Bill Bassett.
Bill has been diagnosed with a rare from leukemia and doesn't have adequate insurance to cover the costs.
When Chuck Mabery stepped into retirement several years ago, it was Bill Bassett who ably stepped into those deep boots.
Bassett has now been with the Cowboys for seven years, and with his rich voice he is an important part of the Blazin' M family. Now he needs help and the Cowboys and the Blazin' M hope to raise money to help with his medical conditions.
Lori Mabery at the Blazin' M says, "Bill hadn't been feeling well during the past year, and when he went to the doctor, he was found to have come down with pneumonia." Digging a little deeper, it was discovered that Bill was suffering from leukemia, and a rare form at that.
Bassett, who once worked in Nashville at Opryland, is very popular.
"He is a real crowd pleaser," Lori says. "Bill has wonderful stage presence and always puts on a good show."
To complicate matters, Bill's wife Crystal also has health issues with pancreatitis, and Bill has been the lone breadwinner.
Fortunately, Bassett very recently returned to work at the Blazin' M on a limited basis, but he was not able to return to his daytime job at Larry Green.
Now with mounting medical bills from the hospitalization and expensive treatments, the Blazin' M Family members, staff and performers have stepped forward to volunteer their time and work to put on the show for this night with all proceeds from ticket sales going directly to Bill.
All dinner/show ticket prices are $35 for this event.
