New and Improved Verde Campus (with photo gallery)

Yavapai College held a grand opening celebration to mark the end of construction at its Clarkdale campus on Tuesday, November 13. The majority of renovations to 5 buildings, and the construction of a new heating and cooling plant, was completed over the summer. The campus has been open this semester, however, the new student union and art gallery in building F, as well as the grounds, were just finished within the last week. The open house drew leaders from the Cottonwood and Clarkdale community, as well as the Yavapai College family from the Verde Valley and Prescott campuses. Verde Valley Campus Dean, James Perry, and Yavapai College President, Penny Wills, were among the speakers that helped christen the campus from the new pavilion. Tours of the completed facilities were offered, refreshments were served and the new Verde Gallery held an opening reception for the faculty art exhibit, rounding out the event. VVN/Jon Pelletier
