New director, assistant director selected for House of Ruth
The House of Ruth has hired a new director and assistant director.
Lou Mason is the new director. She has been with the House of Ruth for 10 years, the last four of those as an assistant sirector to Merrilyn Jones, who just retired. Also, in 1993, Mason was the director for 2 and a half years. She has served the House of Ruth in many ways, including being a volunteer.
She is married to Kent Mason, has three daughters, two stepchildren, and five grandchildren.
"My desire is to see the House of Ruth grow in its service to the community and to continue to make a difference in the lives of the young people in our area. When a young girl comes to the House of Ruth for our services, whether for a pregnancy test or for our parenting lessons may she know that she is in a special place. A place that cares for her and her child and that she will become the best mommy in the world," said Mason.
Working along with Mason will be new Assistant Director Jeanine Peterson. She is married to Dan Peterson, has three married children and seven grandchildren. Jeanine has been a volunteer for the last four years. She said, "God gave me a real desire to get involved with the girls here and they have stolen my heart."
