way stations

... periodically we all have to take a break from our travels and travails and get some rest and renewal ... and I imagine that the same is true for those traveling the galaxies and universe. So one of my favorite hen mallards is dropping in for a rest after transitioning from an earthbound life and is seeking that which is beyond understanding to us ... at least in the present. And we can imagine the beauty that lies beyond with the knowledge that one day we too will make the transition and explore the wonders that are beyond here.

A fun flight today with a friend and we visited lots of areas of interest and I got another lesson in the geology as we flew over a wide expanse of Northern Arizona. The mallard in the photo is from a recent shot at the ponds and sunset crater from a flight on Tuesday. As always the deep space shot is from NASA. Among the points of interest today were the Discovery Channel Telescope, a lot of Anderson Mesa, Roden Crater and Grand Falls (it is flowing, go see it) and then we followed the river out to the confluence. A fun flight.

Hope you enjoy the image and also enjoy the day ... we are so fortunate to be here ... life is good.
