The EntireCare team - comprised of physical, occupational and hand therapists; speech/language pathologists; athletic trainers and sports medicine experts; technicians and assistants; and support staff - functions as a cohesive unit to provide the most comprehensive care.

Each specific type of therapy is considered a specialty and plays an important role in the rehabilitation process. All therapies are medically prescribed for VVMC inpatients and outpatients, and include comprehensive evaluations and individualized treatment plans provided by caring, skilled professional therapists.

In addition to rehabilitative therapies, EntireCare also offers treatment options for:

• Diabetic foot care.

• Falls prevention

• Fibromyalgia

• Hand and Wrist Pain

• Incontinence

• Lymphedema and Edema

• Osteoporosis

• Parkinson's disease

• Peripheral Neuropathy

• Vestibular

• Wound Care

New treatment options:

• Brain Rewiring After Stroke or Injury: One of the biggest theories guiding new therapy treatments to improve mobility and walking after a stroke is the idea of neuroplasticity (brain rewiring).

Simply put, if one area of the brain is damaged or affected, another area can take over some of the function. You must perform repetitive correct practice to drive neuroplasticity; at a minimum, you must perform a task correctly 10,000 times.

Neuroplasticity does take tremendous hard work. We are fortunate that advanced training and the neuro team know how to assist patients in improving mobility, ambulation and function.
