Obituary: Mary Elizabeth Glasow 1925-2013

Mary Elizabeth Glasow, 87, passed away peacefully August 22, 2013 in Phoenix Arizona. Born to Robert and Elva Black on December 8, 1925 in Elkhart, Indiana with 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Mary was a strong and devoted woman of faith. She lead an inspiring life, moving to California and starting out her career as a "Rosie the Riveter" during the second world war at Northrop where she met her beloved husband in 1944 and later married on June 10, 1945.

After moving to Phoenix, Mary went on to pave the way as a working mother and iconic telephone operator at "Ma Bell" until her retirement. Mary later focused on her love of sewing and quilting at home in Camp Verde.

Mary joins her husband Carl William Glasow Sr. in heaven. She is survived by her son Carl William Glasow Jr. and Nancie Faye Glasow, 2 grandchildren Gregory Carl Glasow and Shelley Glasow Schadowsky, 3 great-grandchildren Katia Katerina Schadowsky, Julia Grace Glasow and Ian Carl Glasow in addition to two sisters Vera and Clara.

Mary will be laid to rest privately at Middle Verde Cemetery in Camp Verde, Arizona surrounded by close friends and family.

Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix.
