Local law enforcement agencies from all over the Verde Valley took part in the annual "Shop with a Cop" on Saturday, December 14. The day began at the Public Safety Building in Cottonwood where officers were paired with pre-selected children, recommended for the event by local schools and service groups. Together the kids and officers shared breakfast compliments of Brandi's Restaurant. The group departed in a line of patrol cars and traveled to the Cottonwood Airport where the kids greeted Santa Claus, who flew in by way of helicopter. The final stop on the whirlwind tour was Wal-Mart, where the children each shopped with a budget of $150.
