Marilyn Jean Brown (Laughlin) 69, from Camp Verde, Arizona passed away unexpectedly on January 21, 2013, in a Cottonwood, Arizona, hospital.  

She is survived by her loving husband Leland E. Brown of 22 years, stepson Brian Brown and wife Sarah; two step grandchildren Emily and Jack Brown, two brothers Leland Laughlin and wife Glenda of Isleton, California, and Robert Laughlin and wife Vickie of Prescott, Arizona.  She is also survived by numerous brother in laws and sister in laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and cousins. Her father Walter Laughlin and mother Lela Laughlin (Palmer) preceded her in death.  

Marilyn was born in Berkley, California, on November 12, 1943, raised in San Pablo, California, and graduated from Richmond High School in June 1962.  Later she moved to Seattle, Washington where she was a legal secretary for approximately 15 years. She then moved back to the San Pablo area in 1979 where she enjoyed the privilege of working with her father and his bookkeeping business.  She eventually took on the responsibility and ownership of this business until retiring to Camp Verde, Arizona in 2000.  

Those that knew Marilyn well, knew that she loved to bake, make jellies and jams and was a great cook.  More of her creative talents included sewing, gardening and needlepoint.  Just recently she learned to crochet and was becoming very good at it.  She enjoyed sharing her creative goods as gifts. Marilyn was a caring and giving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all.  She will be terribly missed.  

A memorial service will be held at Bueler Funeral Home, 143 W. Arnold Street, Camp Verde, Arizona on Saturday February 2 at 1:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Neptune Society.
