Mascher hosts Detention Association

PRESCOTT -- Yavapai Sheriff Scott Mascher hosted a majority of Arizona Sheriffs for the Arizona Detention Association conference at the Prescott Resort. Also present were David Gonzales, U.S. Marshall for Arizona, and DPS Director Robert Halliday.

This conference was the 6th annual gathering and Sheriff Mascher was pleased to welcome Arizona Sheriffs to discuss a myriad of issues involving county detention operations throughout the State. By state law, the Sheriff in each county is mandated to operate a county detention facility, which is one the most complex and costly operation within any Sheriff's Office. This gathering allowed sheriffs and their respective custody personnel to exchange ideas, receive legal updates and training, and confer about issues/concerns in their respective counties. Numerous vendors were also present representing the latest in detention related equipment, technology and supplies.
