Medical helicopter uses Cornville School

CORNVILLE -- Neighbors heard a medical helicopter landing at the Cornville School Tuesday night about 11 p.m. Verde Valley Fire District Operations Chief Jerry Doerksen says the school made a convenient landing site for a medical helicopter. A man in his 50s had fallen at a home nearby and struck his head. Doerksen advises that people with potential head injuries need to be taken to a trauma hospital with physicians and technicians on duty or on call. The patient was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center.
