COTTONWOOD - “The fun starts here,” says Judy Scharfencamp, and so does the sign sitting in front of her business – Cat’s Meow -- at 1020 N. Main St. in Old Town Cottonwood.

The store is located inside Book Adventures Unlimited. But once you pass through the entrance, you are inside a large space – once the first lumber and hardware store in Cottonwood – now filled with all manner of treasure.

“We’re not your average antique shop,” Judy said.

The store offers collectibles, antiques, vintage clothing, jewelry, artwork, furniture and much more.

“It’s a little something for everybody,” Judy says. “We do a lot of estates.”

She has lived in the Verde Valley for about 26 years, and she is the owner of Treasures & More Estate Sales for the past 12 years.

“At one time, I had an antique store in Old Town for about four years,” she explained. She says she left to go into estate sales and learn more about the business. But Old Town kept calling to her.

With Pat Veglia helping run the store when Judy is out on estate business, she is still able to have her antique store and run her estate sales business.

She is happy to be back in business in Old Town.

“Old Town is a jewel,” she said. “It has so much to offer.”

She says that includes lots of antiques, shops, wine and sidewalk cafes. Judy says visitors can come for a nice getaway or stay for the night.

Hours are 10 to 5 Monday through Friday and 11 to 5 on Saturday and 11 to 4 on Sunday.
