Mosaic workshop in Cottonwood

Get creative with tile this Saturday and learn how to make whatever you choose - birdbaths, stepping-stones, picture frames, inserts and more - using a new process that makes setting your designs fast and easy. Mosaic artist Lisa Quam will show you how it works on May 11 in a 5-hour workshop at her home studio in Cottonwood.

The class is open to all levels of experience, and covers the basics of working with a new type of latex mesh. Also covered: how to design, lay out and affix your mosaic, how to attach it to its base, and how to grout and clean the piece after it has cured.

All necessary tools and materials will be provided by the instructor but you are welcome to bring your own tiles if you like (cut glass, ceramic, broken plates), and perhaps a frame or other small piece to use as a base.

The fee is $75.

Class size is limited to eight students, so call early to reserve your place.
