Dude-like ranch

While international visitors travel thousands of miles to visit the historic M Diamond Ranch, Verde Valley and Sedona residents enjoy this wonderful "dude-like" ranch right in our backyard.

In 2000, Peggy and Larry Ingham became the owners of the M Diamond Ranch.

M Diamond Ranch is a working ranch, meaning they raise cattle as well as doing the trail rides, cookouts and guest house. The ranch is surrounded by the Coconino National Forest and features panoramic views and vistas and dark starry skies. The ranch was homesteaded in 1908 and has been a working cattle ranch ever since, where guests experience authentic western history and heritage.

Peggy notes "It was a big jump in the deep end. It all started with wanting to teach our grandkids about ranching and agriculture." Peggy and Larry have operated the ranch and hosted thousands of guests over the past 13 years.

Peggy says, "The ranch is good for everyone." It teaches good stewardship of public lands. Peggy received the Wildlife Habitat Stewardship Award in 2008 for her efforts in rangeland management. "For most of our visitors, it's their first time on a horse."

Most guests enjoy the "Ranch Rendezvous", an afternoon trail ride departing between 4 and 5 p.m. and returning an hour later to a wagon ride and cowboy cookout. The trail ride takes you out into the beautiful foothills of the Mogollon Rim. When returning to the ranch you witness the stunning Arizona sunset.

The enterainment at the evening cookouts features Alvie Self, member of both the Rockabilly and Western Swing Halls of Fame, playing the acoustic guitar and fiddle.

If you are looking for a place for a small family reunion or out of the way meeting place, the "Little Gem" guesthouse sleeps up to 10 people. The rooms are rustic and beautifully decorated with ranch decor.

Experience their wide open spaces, learn how we work to preserve them and enjoy a trip out of town to the quiet, rural lifestyle.

M Diamond Ranch is ranked #2 by Trip Advisor and Readers' Choice award recipient for the category of 'Best Riding Stable'.

If you are a local resident and haven't been to the ranch it's definitely a must experience and locals receive a 25% discount. Ask about our special Saturday night chili dinner.
