Esther Mae Felton

Esther Mae Felton, 88, of Litchfield Park, AZ was born on May 4, 1925 in Elkader, Iowa and passed away on October 1, 2013.

She is survived by her daughters, Julie (Don) Fields and Lisa (Wil) Lopez; 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brother Larry Deason, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leon Felton; daughters, Debra Gail and Sheryl Lynn; grandson Bret Smalling; 1 sister, and 4 brothers.

She met her husband, Leon, after graduating from Phoenix Union High School in 1943, then worked at Douglas Aircraft after he joined the Marines.

They married in 1945 and lived in California for a short time before moving to Phoenix. They moved to Flagstaff in 1969, then to Cottonwood in 1985. After Leon passed in 2003, she moved to Litchfield Park to be near her daughters.

She was a wonderful wife and mother to 4 daughters. Through the years she was a Brownie leader, a Missionette leader, as well as being very involved in her church and Women's Aglow. Throughout her life, her heart for God was seen as a giving, caring woman whose positive attitude in every situation encouraged all she came in contact with.

Her joy and passion were in serving the Lord, lovingly raising her family, and being with her many friends whom she held so dear. S

he was known as a mighty prayer warrior who prayed daily for her entire family and others. She was a blessing to so many throughout her life by her giving, praying, and unconditional love. We rejoice with her that she's now home with her beloved Jesus, husband Leon, family and life-long friends.

Funeral service will be at Harvest Church, 8340 W. Northern Ave., Glendale on Sat. Oct 12th at 11 a.m. with visitation at 10 a.m.

Graveside services to follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale. Arrangements entrusted to Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary in Glendale.
