McSally Ahead of the Curve on Obamacare
J.T. Reid's "Fact Check" conclusion in the Arizona Republic that Martha McSally's depiction of Obamacare as a government takeover is "Misleading" would be more accurate if he described it as "Premature." That the intent of the ACA is to be an interim step to a single payer system, i.e. a "government takeover", there is little doubt since it has been described as such even by Senator Harry Reid.
J.T. Reid admits that the ACA "...increases government regulation of the health-care system -20,000 pages so far. He says the ACA "does expand the role of government." Government mandated specs make the plans "private" in name only. No, the government hasn't nationalized hospitals or made doctors public employees (yet). But, insurance providers, in order to make premiums affordable, are cutting payments to hospitals and doctors, driving hospitals out of business or doctors to retire early or to refuse to take ACA plans. Obama, Reid and their cohorts see the crisis thus created as the catalyst to demand for a total government takeover.
While the ACA ostensibly provides "...individuals with access to private health plans..." there is a vast difference between access to a plan and actual access to healthcare.
