Father, cowboy, roper, humorist, entertainer, mentor, and best friend.
Fred and his son Fred Jr. were a roping team with a box of silver belt buckles to prove their proficiency.
Fred was a great wit. Once after a doctor's appointment, I asked, "What did the doctor say?" Fred said, " The doctor gave me 6 months to live!" I said "what?" Fred said, "Yup, I have an appointment in 6 months and I have to be there!" That was Fred.
Fred was a guitar & banjo virtuoso, head of the Smokey Mountain Show in Reno and Vegas for over 12 years. He was also a one-man show for many years.
Fred freely shared his knowledge. Fred lived in Camp Verde for over 30 years and was loved by many. Fred said he's glad his name was Fred because that's what everyone calls me!"
Love you Fred. We're missing you already, but know you're at the "Big Roping in the Sky."
