Dick and Arlene Ritchey will celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary July 11. They were married in Lakewood, Colo., in 1964. Dick Ritchey was the chief of police in Aspen, Colo., in the 1960s for seven years, then at Olney, Ill., as police chief for 4 years, and then back to Colorado in the 1980s. He was chief of police in Fountain, Colo., for 10 years. Dick and Arlene moved from Fountain to Cottonwood in 2002. Arlene was a high school math teacher in Iowa and Colorado and also was a church organist in many churches. They will celebrated their 50th anniversary at a family gathering in Carbondale., Colo, where their son and his wife live. Their daughter, Pam, also will attend. She recently moved from Houston to Cottonwood where Dick and Arlene have lived for the past 12 years. In addition to their two children, they have four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
