Stella Marie Mohl

Stella Marie Mohl

Stella Marie Mohl (A.K.A., "Grandma" by everyone) 94, of Cornville, passed away at her home while gardening on July 2, 2014. She was born on April 15, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio, to Constantine Schultz and Rosalia Yurlewicz.

Stella attended Miami University of Ohio. She served her country in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. While stationed in Long Beach, CA, she met her future husband Joe (also in the US Coast Guard), and they later married and settled down in So. California. While living there Stella worked for the Bank of America, and later for the Women's Southern California Golf Association. When Joe passed away 18 years ago, she moved to Cornville.

Stella attended the Catholic Church in her youth. She enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, sewing and gardening. She was fiercely independent 'til the end, and was constantly found being concerned about, and serving her family and friends.

She never had an enemy, only friends. She was loved by all who knew her, and will be profoundly missed by her family and many friends. In short: Stella was a great example of all that is good.

Stella was preceded in death by her husband Joseph George Mohl. She is survived by daughters Melinda (Howard) Cardon and Joscelyn (Richard) Gottschalk both of Cornville; 4 grandchildren: Garrett (Katie) Cardon of Denver, CO, Holly Gottschalk of Cottonwood, Trevor Gottschalk (Nancy) of Cottonwood and Jenny Hard (Keith) of Paradise, CA and 3 great-grandchildren: Sammy Cardon, Joseph Gottschalk and Kellan Hard.

The family gathered and celebrated her life. There are no services planned.
