New Season of Clarkdale Concerts in the Park

Clarkdale Concerts in the Park opened with the brassy sounds of local big band faves Sentimental Journey on Saturday evening, May 31. The free series, sponsored by Clarkdale Community Services, is a major attraction for Clarkdale, drawing hundreds of people to lounge, socialize and listen under the open skies for each concert. The park is located in the center of the town's historic district on Main Street, between 10th and 11th Streets. The Lions Club sells refreshments to raise money for civic projects as well as holding a 50/50 raffle at each concert. The 2014 schedule:

June 14, 7-9 p.m. 2 G's & a C Note (acoustic classic rock)

June 21, 7-9 p.m. Doubleblind (hard rock)

July 12, 7-9 p.m. Trotter's Wake Irish Band (Irish pub/traditional)

July 26, 7-9 p.m. Blues Dawg (blues)

Aug. 9, 7-9 p.m. Jonathon Levingston (violin)

Aug. 23, 7-9 p.m. Burnett Family Bluegrass (bluegrass)

Sept. 6, 7-9 p.m. Aces N Eights (70's to current rock n' roll)
