After nearly 50 years of service to the Verde Valley and Sedona Communities, the Verde Valley Guidance Clinic will soon become know as Spectrum Healthcare. C. E. O. Robert Cartia says the new name better reflects the organizations' scope of services, including primary medical care. The Verde Valley Guidance Clinic continues to provide a full complement of behavioral health services.
Verde Valley Guidance Clinic is contracted through NARBHA, the Regional Behavioral Health Authority for Coconino, Navajo, Yavapai, Apache and Mohave counties. Funds for behavioral health services are provided through a contract with the Arizona Department of Health Services/Division of Behavioral Health Services and AHCCCS. Spectrum Healthcare will remain the agency responsible for the provision of behavioral health services under the NARBHA contract.
Cartia stated that the clinic's Board of Directors and clinic staff believe that a new corporate name is important to exemplify the changes associated with the delivery of healthcare services
"Changes in the broader healthcare industry are exciting and we felt a new name is more representative of the times and of the future direction of the clinic. We are also very excited with the visual depiction of 'Spectrum Healthcare' as it is rich in symbolism of the values the organization strongly believes in."
Cartia said that while the new name will be rolled out in the next several weeks, those currently receiving services will not see their care disrupted in any way. Sometime in late June or early July, the clinic's medical and pharmacy services will move into 651 Mingus Avenue, not far from the Clinic's current facilities at 8 E. Cottonwood St. Announcements about the move and other changes will be coming soon.
