Senior Center donation allows for year-end dollar-for-dollar state tax reduction
Please consider the hungry elders in our community when making the decision as to where your tax dollars can help the most. The Verde Valley Senior Center is a conduit, a lifeline, to hundreds of senior citizens on a daily basis and has served thousands of residents for the past 35 years.
By donating up to $200 per person, or $400 per married couple, to the Verde Valley Senior Center before Dec. 31, you may be eligible for the Arizona Working Poor Tax Credit and reduce your state tax liability with a dollar-for-dollar reduction. You can help the Senior Center sustain its mission to provide wholesome, nutritious meals, transportation and other valuable services to the community's elders and be rewarded. Every dollar you contribute is a dollar less you owe in taxes.
It is important to note that your contribution to the Verde Valley Senior Center is eligible for the Arizona State Charitable Tax Credit program even if you choose to donate to your school of choice because the Working Poor Tax Credit is different from the School Tax Credit.
The Verde Valley Senior Center is a qualified 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation and gifts are tax deductible as provided by law. We are a qualified charitable organization for the Arizona Working Poor tax credit.
Starting with the 2014 tax year, taxpayers do not have to itemize to claim a deduction for contributions to a Qualifying Charitable Organization on their federal taxes.
