COTTONWOOD - After six years located in Metro Detroit, the Coffeys fell in love with Old Town Cottonwood and opened their new yoga studio there earlier this month.
"We came to town for a workshop -- Sedona, actually -- had lunch at the Red Rooster and decided we needed to be here," Jeff Coffey said.
Jeff and his wife Stacey visited in February, and moved by September.
"We went home, sold our business, bought a home in Cottonwood, and opened our business four weeks later," he said. "We are excited about the new growth in Old Town and so pleased to be a part of it."
Both are Shamans, and plan to expand Spirit Rising Yoga into a healing center with massage, smoothies, gluten-free vegetarian pantry and clothing.
"Stacey is also a Reiki master, cranial sacral therapist and energy worker through many fields and techniques," Coffey said.
Coffey said he'd continue leading workshops in Michigan, as well as bring students to Cottonwood.
The couple also leads annual retreats to Peru.
"Each class is crafted for exactly who is in the room then, not a preplanned same thing' class," he said.
The business is located at 1045 N. Main St., with morning classes seven days per week, and a few afternoons and most evenings.
