Off-road vehicle accident

STONEMAN LAKE -- Montezuma-Rimrock Fire crews were dispatched Saturday afternoon to Stoneman Lake to help Pinewood Fire Dept. with an off-road vehicle accident. The vehicle struck a tree causing injuries to the four riders.

At the time of the accident, CPR was administered to one patient. Two more patients were airlifted by Guardian Air Transport to Flagstaff Medical Center with potentially life-threatening injuries. The remaining two patients were transported by Montezuma-Rimrock to FMC.

All occupants were seat belted at the time of the accident but no helmets were in use. This accident should serve as a reminder to all to drive speeds that are prudent for road conditions and to use safety equipment at all times.
