VV Computer Club Meeting

Sept. 8

The Verde Valley Computer Club Linux Special Interest Group (SIG) meets Monday at 5 p.m. Topic: 'LXLE'. SIG presenter is Rob Schottland.

This free Operating System has a desktop similar to past Windows. Linux could be a replacement for an expensive operating system.

Verde Thumbs Garden Club meeting

Sept. 9

Get "Down & Dirty" at the Garden Club on Tuesday. They will be talking about soil building using compost and worm castings. Discussion will include what amenities are available for gardening soil and when to use them. Winter gardening protection tips will also be provided.

Meet at the Seventh-day Adventist Church on the southwest corner of Willard and Mingus on September 9th. Social hour starts at 6 pm and the meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Janice Montgomery at 634-7172.

Erev Shabbat at JCSVV

Sept. 12

Join the Jewish Community of Sedona and the Verde Valley for Erev Shabbat services on Friday at 7:30 p.m., led by Rabbi Alicia Magal, with candle lighting, Sabbath prayers, a reading from the Torah, healing blessings for those who are ill, and Kaddish, the memorial prayer for those who died recently or on this date in past years. Visitors are welcome. The Oneg flowers and refreshments will be sponsored by Coleman Gentry.

Living with Loss Support Group in Camp Verde

"Living With Loss Support Group" hosted by Hospice of the Pines. Any kind of loss or pending loss can make us feel separated from those things that make life worth living. Coffee Talk with Mayor

Sept. 17

Coffee Talk with the Mayor is at Vinnie's New York Chefs Pizzeria in Cottonwood at 6 p.m. What is going on in your city of Cottonwood? Come meet and speak with Mayor Diane Joens who wants to hear your ideas and views of your city. Development Services Manager Morgan Scott will also give an update on current road projects in the city, and answer any questions about Public Works issues. Coffee Talk will be held at Vinnie's New York Chef Pizzeria, 516 Arizona 89A, Cottonwood at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Coffee will be provided.

Free Legal Clinic at Cottonwood Public Library

Sept. 18

Community Legal Services, Inc. from Prescott is partnering with the Cottonwood Public Library to offer a Free Legal Clinic at the library on Thursday from 2 to 3 p.m. Areas of interest are Family, Consumer, and Housing Law including child support, divorce, garnishment, debt collection, landlord/tenant and foreclosure. All applicants must qualify for services before speaking with an attorney. Please bring all relevant legal documents.
