Obituary: Donald J. Peterson

Donald J. Peterson, 86, born in Omaha, Nebraska, passed July 16th, 2015 at home with family present. He was a 35 yr resident of Camp Verde, well known & active in community events & charities. Don was loved & respected by all who knew him. He loved family, friends, classic & antique cars, a good cigar and dogs. A truly good & honorable man, he will be deeply missed & the world will suffer from his loss.

He was a Korean War U.S. Navy Veteran, a Mason, a 20 yr retired Lt. in the Phoenix Police Dept. A lifetime member & officer in the American Legion Post 93, & lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6739, Fraternal Order of Police & Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by son, Vann Peterson, son, David Hensley & only daughter, Cynthia Cass, 9 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren.

Arrangements by Bueler Funeral Home, Camp Verde Az. A memorial service, for this great man, will be held at VFW Post 6739 in Camp Verde on Saturday August 15, 1PM to 3PM.  Honor guard will proceed, followed by food & libation.  All who knew him are welcome to attend.
