Patricia Joan Stuart Finney took her last breath on June 22, 2015 at home after a prolonged illness. She was born in Edinboro, PA on March 22, 1932, the daughter of the late Dr. John Alvin and Phoeba Ollie Brugh Stuart.
Patricia graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. degree in Education in 1954 and then with a Masters in 1958. In 1976 she attended Northern Arizona University and earned her Masters degree in Special Education. She lived in Flagstaff from 1970 until 2011 when she moved to Cottonwood for her health.
Patricia had a strong faith in God and loved music. She loved to play the piano and sing and she served on many ministries in the church. She was deeply devoted to her family and friends. She always had a beautiful smile to offer everyone.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. B. Alfred Finney M.D., her brother Dr. Robert Stuart, her son Timothy Finney and her great-grandchild Beatrix Tellez-Finney. She is survived by her sister Sylvia A. (Dennis) Legal; sister-in-law Kathy Stuart; five children: sons William R. (Judy) Finney, David S. Finney, Charles T. Finney and Douglas J. (Caroline) Finney; and daughter Joana Clark; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren and many other extended family.
A memorial service was held at Federated Church in Flagstaff on Saturday, June 27, 2015. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Patricia's name may be made to the Poore Medical Clinic, 120 W. Fine, Flagstaff, AZ 86001.
