Yavapai Food Neighbors welcome new volunteers

A friendly table of Village Food Neighbors signed up 11 new Green Bag Donors at a recruiting event in front of Weber's IGA on Sept. 12. And that's not all ... three additional Neighborhood Coordinator volunteers (Hurray!) have stepped up and are set to go with their new "neighborhoods," too.

Thanks again goes to Jake Weber for posting Food Neighbors Project signs in the store and always supporting the Project's efforts to feed our local hungry.

The new members of the Yavapai Food Neighbors Project will join the Village/Big Park team from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 10, as they hold their every-other-month Green Bag Food Collection in the Weber's parking lot near the Eye Boutique. It should be a beautiful Fall morning, so come on down to enjoy the excitement of watching car after car roll in, loaded with handsome green bags, filled with generous food and financial donations.

Every bit of it will go to food banks and food projects (such as Meals on wheels and youth back-pack programs) throughout the Village, Sedona and the Verde Valley. You, too, are welcome to join this proud and happy team.

Go to www.yavapaifoodneighborsproject.com for easy sign-up or call Barb Gordon at 928-284-9090. You'll be glad you did!
