Finally, some serious monsoon rain

This is the Deception Wash crossing at Old Jerome Highway. This crossing floods during every monsoon season, and often requires road closure. Saturday’s storm was a little different as the water took a slightly different path and ran across the pavement instead of the concrete apron, which caused undercutting and damage to the asphalt. The road was shut down overnight Saturday, and Clarkdale Public Works Crews had it reopened Sunday morning. It then had to be closed again Sunday night due to another storm, and was reopened Monday morning. (Photo courtesy Town of Clarkdale.)
