Thunder Valley Rally to crank up volume September 16-17

COTTONWOOD -- Get ready! The much-anticipated Thunder Valley Rally roars into to Old Town Cottonwood next month as top billing of Main Street stage shows will feature Molly Hatchet and Foghat Sept. 16-17.

The Bootlegger capital of Arizona really knows how to throw a party. Old Town Cottonwood, "Rockin' it since 1885," will close down the street for the annual "Thunder Valley Rally gathering presented by the Law Tigers, Arizona's Motorcycle Lawyers

There will be motorcycle-only parking on Main Street, huge beer gardens, top builders and vendors. Saddle-up for the outrageous "Bootlegger Poker Run," through the Verde Valley Wine Country for $2,000 in prize money sponsored by Cottonwood Motorsports. Ogle at the Miss T.V.R. Pin-up Girl Pageant, presented by Main Stage, just the start of a smokin' good time in Old Town.

This year the T.V.R. Committee and the Cottonwood City Council have chosen to support the Military Service Park, to honor all branches of the military, currently in the design phase, slated for the local park land within Garrison Park.

Riders of all makes can lay claim to a few common threads the open road, service, and patriotism. Also, this year, the TVR Committee and the Council chose Steps to Recovery, whose mission is to provide a safe environment, free from any illicit drugs or alcohol, for people with substance abuse issues. "We focus on behavior modifications and are dedicated to consistency, structure, and direction in our homes. We are passionate about our own recovery and want to help others find peace," states Steps to Recovery literature.

Riders coming into the rally will be charged a $10 weekend bike pass that will include both national act concerts and weekend parking on Main Street.

The intent of the rally is to support local businesses, define the Verde Valley as a destination, and to showcase the attractions that the Verde Valley has to offer. Don't forget to check out the Kickstand Campground at the Verde Valley Fairgrounds, Main Stage after Party, and onsite camping.
