Photographs created by Bob Coates of Bob Coates Photography in Sedona have recently been accepted into the Prestigious Loan Collection of Professional Photographers of America's 2016 International Photographic Competition.

Coates' work will be on display at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, TX, Jan. 8-10, 2017. This International Photographic Exhibition is held in conjunction with Imaging USA, an annual convention and expo for professional photographers.

A panel of 46 eminent jurors from across the United States selected the top photographs from nearly 5,700 entries at Gwinnett Technical College in Georgia. Judged against a standard of excellence, just over 2,428 images were selected for the General Collection and 1,007 were selected for the esteemed Loan Collection -- the best of the best. Loan Collection images will be published in the much-anticipated "Loan Collection" book.

President of Arizona Professional Photographers Association and Certified Professional Photographer, Connie Zimmerlich was excited with the results, "Bob's body of work is a magnificent representation of architecture, nature and abstract.

Each one is detailed and captivating. Bob's image 'Going Up' is just stunning and 'Iris' is a gorgeous presentation of nature's beauty. The repetition and color harmony pull me to enjoy the image longer. We are so proud that Bob is a member of AZPPA and represents Arizona so well on the international stage."

Master Photographer Dennis Chamberlain of Corrales, New Mexico said, "One of the many things I have always admired about Bob's work is his refreshing variety of subjects and styles.

Bob's art knows no boundaries, and offers something for everyone. I was particularly captivated with 'Dance of the Snowy Egret'. This high-key composite has just the right combination of action, flow, and tone. I find that I can appreciate it from a distance, as one continuous art piece, or by looking at each individual component of the egret's path. The exquisite treatment of the reflections in the water serve up the delicate icing on the cake."

Coates' images will be displayed in the International Photographic Exhibition alongside other top photographic works that constitute one of the world's largest annual exhibits of professional photography under one roof.
