CCFMA responds to vehicle that fell 75-feet down embankment

CAMP VERDE - Around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Copper Canyon Fire and Medical Authority emergency crews from Stations 81 and 82, along with DPS and ADOT, were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover on I-17 southbound at milepost 277.5.

According to a news release from CCFMA, emergency crews arrived at the scene – about 15 miles south of Camp Verde – to find a small SUV that had rolled multiple times.

The vehicle left the roadway, went over the guardrail, and fell approximately 75-feet down an embankment, coming to rest on its wheels, the release state.

There were a total of three patients, said CCFMA, with two of the patients being self-extricated and ambulatory. One patient was found trapped in the vehicle and required extrication with heavy rescue hydraulic tools, stated the release.

CCFMA said all patients were treated on scene for injuries, with two of these patients requiring medivac transport to level one trauma centers, and the third patient being treated and released on scene to family members.
