Letter: The journey is complete; Kudo finished the race

Editor:

It is with great sadness that we share with you our loss of Kudo, our retired Pet Therapy Dog.

We went to Phoenix on Thursday to have an abdominal ultra sound done because he had been refusing food for almost a week.  Unfortunately, cancer of the spleen was confirmed. On Friday, Kudo had a very difficult morning.

We took him to his life-long veterinarian, Dr. Jennifer Gummo-Wagner at the Verde Veterinary Hospital.  Kudo had apparently stroked, and, not wanting him to suffer, we did what we had to do: we had Dr. Gummo-Wagner painlessly help her, and our, friend Kudo cross "The Rainbow Bridge." We especially want to thank Dr. Gummo-Wagner and her staff for their kindness during our time of grief.

Kudo was the most loving, faithful, friend, and pet imaginable.  He spent his 8 year working life ministering to, and consoling, patients, their friends, and staff at the Verde Valley Medical Center until his retirement in August 3, 2015.

Our beautiful, beloved Golden boy will be missed terribly.
