Crash on Cornville Road

March 1 at about 10:40 a.m., the Verde Valley Fire District responded to a vehicle accident on Cornville Road. Upon arrival the vehicle was on the other side of the damaged guard rail with heavy damage and one occupant and her pet dog. Patient assessment revealed minor injuries even though the patient and dog needed to be extricated. The fire crew secured the vehicles hazards, provided immediate patient contact and care, and at the same time utilized multiple extrication tools to remove the occupants. Cornville Road was shut down for approximately 40 minutes with the support from YCSO and VVFD. The patient was transported to Verde Valley Medical Center and Cottonwood Animal Control was called in to care for the dog. (Photos courtesy of Verde Valley Fire District)
