Verde Valley home sales bring mixed results this quarter

VERDE VALLEY - Residential single family home sales last year Verde Valley wide experienced a decrease in sales yet an increase in prices, to the Sedona Verde Valley Association of Realtors. The results compared sales from First Quarter 2015 with sales from First Quarter 2016.

While the number of homes sold dropped 3 percent in 2016, those that sold brought an average increase in price of 15 percent. This brought the median sales price up 23 percent compared with last year, as well as increasing the sales volume by 12 percent over last year.

Even as new listings increased 4 percent in 2016, the news was mixed for Verde Valley home sales. For example, the number of listings under contract this year fell 9 percent in the first quarter of 2016.
