Obituary: Marilyn Adele Olson 1936-2016

Marilyn Adele Olson 10/28/36 – 11/19/16: Marilyn Olson left us on November 19th, 2016 after a long struggle with Parkinson disease.  She passed peacefully with all of her family near and will be missed dearly.

Marilyn Adele Olson 10/28/36 – 11/19/16: Marilyn Olson left us on November 19th, 2016 after a long struggle with Parkinson disease. She passed peacefully with all of her family near and will be missed dearly.

Marilyn was born Oct 28, 1936 in Flagstaff, AZ to Lois and William Irvin Price. She was raised in the Verde Valley on the family homestead bordered by Oak Creek.

She attended Cottonwood High School graduating in 1954 and then attended college at Arizona State College in Flagstaff (NAU) on a music scholarship where she met her husband of over 60 years Glenn Olson. Marilyn and Glenn were married in Flagstaff in 1956 and both graduated from NAU (AZ State College) in 1958 with a degree in education. Marilyn and Glenn have worked together in family business ranging from car and gas dealerships to hotel, restaurant and gas station businesses in Seligman, Williams, Prescott and Anthem, AZ.

Marilyn also worked as a high school teacher at Williams High School and sold real estate. She was very active in raising her 2 sons and enjoyed horses, skiing, golf, tennis, lake trips and travel.

She also loved music and was a very accomplished piano player. She was an active member of the “dancing grannies” in Flagstaff. She is survived by her husband, Glenn, sons Brian and Brad (Sally), 2 grandsons, Ian and Jake, and 3 great grandchildren, Delaney Adele, Grayson and Liam and her brother Ken Price (Brenda).

A celebration of her life will be at Kicks on Route 66 in Williams, AZ at 1PM on Friday Dec. 2nd. Family and friends are all invited to attend.
