Police respond to report of woman fearing for her life

Clarkdale man arrested; faces felony charges

CLARKDALE – The Clarkdale Police Department responded to a report of a woman being held against her will in the 1000 block of Calle Tomallo around 9:38 a.m. Tuesday.

According to a news release from Sgt. Nicole Florisi, responding officers were able to determine that the 33-year-old female, of Tucson, had been allegedly threatened, assaulted, and was in fear of her life.

As part of the investigation, Clarkdale Police Department and Gang and Immigration Intelligence Team Enforcement Mission conducted a search warrant at the home.

The search warrant, the release stated, resulted in the seizure of suspected heroin; methamphetamine; psilocybin mushrooms; assorted paraphernalia; multiple handguns; rifles; thousands of rounds of ammunition; additional weapons; and a sophisticated surveillance system.

Stemming from the investigation, John Hyram Thompson, Jr., 35, was taken into custody pending a plethora of felony charges filed with the County Attorney, according to the release.
