Arrest made in Camp Verde burglary
CAMP VERDE - Thomas Dale Clarkson, 36, was arrested for burglary and three other charges at 9 a.m. Sept. 2 in the vicinity of Holloman and 7th St., according to Commander Jacquelyn MacConnell, Camp Verde Marshal's Office.
MacConnell said deputies had responded to two separate calls of criminal damage and a suspicious person in the area of 7th St. and Maryvale. The officers discovered rocks had been thrown at a residence in the area of Azure Drive, causing over $1,000 in damage.
While investigating the incident, deputies located a man in the area of Holloman and 7th St. who matched the description of the suspicious person. Clarkson had items that were discovered to have been taken in a burglary in the 400 block of Azure, reported MacConnell.
Clarkson was booked into Yavapai County Jail for 2nd degree burglary, felony theft, attempted burglary and felony criminal damage.
"The Camp Verde Marshal's Office would like to thank the initial callers for being active community members in keeping their neighborhood safe. Without their phone calls and awareness of suspicious individuals in their community, we may not have apprehended Thomas Clarkson," MacConnell said.
