Letter: This old soldier will always stand for flag, National Anthem

Editor:

This mature ”old soldier” always has, and always will, stand for the American Flag and our National Anthem, symbols of our imperfect country.   To not do so would dishonor all who have sacrificed so much, including their lives.

As much as I loved to play and watch football, I don’t do so anymore.

I agree with you Sam Morey. Our household no longer watches NFL games either. I missed them for the 1st weekend but now I enjoy having my Sunday's back. I hope others also turn off NFL and together we can send a loud message to the NFL. Thank you for your service to our Country!

Imagine for one second you come home from work to find out that your kid was shot dead by police after school. And then you find out the circumstances and realize that your kid did not need to die. There will be an internal investigation that finds the cop acted appropriately. This isn't just a one-time deal, but rather seems to be systemic and systematic. One of the primary purposes of government is justice. If it does not provide this, then it fails at one of its primary tasks. For many of us this is unacceptable, but if you care more about cloth and a song than actual human lives, than so be it.

I've done the opposite and starting watching football again after decades of not watching. Y'all treated Obama like crap, I plan to do the same to your elected idiot. Anything he says to do I plan to do the opposite. Just like Reps did to Obama for eight years. Unity is a crock....
