Western Light: Western Bluebird
Although it's still blustery and we're still starting the days with below freezing temps, we know spring is getting ready for its grand entrance. One marker is the proliferation of both robins and western bluebirds. The blue and red birds are arriving in small groups and looking for whatever small tidbits they can find amid the dormant grass and rocky soil. Couple that with an Anna's hummingbird, singing in the mesquites as it waits for the inevitable return of the females, and can spring be far behind?
